According to the Chinese Zodiac, 2015 was the Year of the Sheep. But investors were anything but sheepish when it came to making bets on US edtech startups.

 

With a total of $1.85 billion raised across 198 deals through December 16, US edtech startups set another record in 2015. Companies whose tools target the K-12 space accounted for $537 million, while those serving higher education raised $711 million. The rest was made up by companies that focus on corporate or adult learning.
